About the project
Specialmoves worked closely with BBH and Unilever to deliver a site operating across Europe in multiple languages. Each territory manages their content with a bespoke CMS built using Adobe AIR plugged into a .NET backend.
Our approach was to design a back-end system that is capable of supporting both a Flash and standards compliant HTML front-end simultaneously.
Flash enables a rich interactive experience and fine control over visual design. HTML ensures accessibility, SEO and just about any language to be supported.
Features include:
- True separation of content from presentation
- Full Unicode support (including double-byte character sets)
- Right to left language support
- Multiple languages for a single local market
- Translation tool, allowing local markets to easily translate a master content into their own language
- Multiple password protected log-ins allowing local markets to only access their own site
- Staging server support allowing full review before pushing changes live
- Full integration with the Unilever hosting platform
- Support for all media types including text, video images and animation
- Bespoke User Interface optimised for the tasks administrators actually need to carry out
- In use by local market Unilever personnel in approximately 15 territories
- Ability to add and remove whole sections and sub-sections of content
- Ability to prioritize content
- Flash front-end support
- Data capture management (integration with Traction)
- Community management
The engineering behind our CMS is rock-solid and real-world tested. It’s fit for purpose and has had great feedback from the people that have used it.
